'Scars', Essay and WTF (Warning to Friends)

The Quantum Poetry Magazine has featured my poem 'Scars' on their website. Please check out.

Also, I have tried to analyse the emotion of Hatred and found it to be necessary as a force for citizen revolts, critical debates, and other constructive social change
The Psychology of Hatred . Hatred is not all that bad.

and one more thing....I googled myself after a year almost and the web is something that can't be controlled. I would recommend that you only click on links that are either mentioned on my blog or website as I contribute directly only to certain sites mentioned on my blog/website. My essays can be republished but stay away from suspicious sites. Some sites even change original content and still use my name as keyword. There are of course, legitimate and good sites who seek permission and post my work with proper credit, so please use your discretion. If you have a nose for what's genuine, you'll understand what I'm talking about.

Happy Knowledge Hunting...

More on Arab Spring

Please check out my article The Arab Spring: Al Qaeda's Imminent Tryst or Impossible Dream? on Online Opinion.

I write about the opportunities that Al Qeada networks have been seeking in the chaos of the Middle East - whenever there is some form of social change, there are underlying opportunities. The Arab Spring is about people and their need for change and democracy but it is also about disruptive elements like the Al Qaeda seeking opportunities. I believe now both overt and covert Al Qaeda supporters could slowly make their way from jihadists to government officials, although this is always how terrorist groups and members dissociate - some die and some get into politics

Libya, Missing Gaddafi, Missing Weapons and some other stuff

An article on the Challenges of the Libyan Interim is posted on OpedNews. What bothers me about Libya is that there are many missing weapons and missiles - more than 20000 of these are missing from the Gaddafi regime's weapons storage facility

I have also posted an article on happiness - suggesting that happiness is one of the most subjective emotions, as the reactions to happiness could be more personal when compared with fear or anger (which are accompanied by definite or more objective physical reactions).
My psychology essays are speculative, and the ideas will have to be empirically tested, so these are only meant as the starting point to trigger research rather than conclusive statements.

Subject: Entertainment

It would be interesting to see a broader approach to entertainment. For example something that pertains to live entertainment (such as circus, dance, religious rites, live music). The obsession everyone has with dissecting video game and movie/celebrity addictions has started to tire me out. It would be great to see this subject put it's attention on more positive side of entertainment, and maybe that way more positive things will come out of it. For example, I'm very curious as to whether story telling, while entertaining, also serves to create and stimulate new ideas in the listener, giving them better tactics to deal with life and help create new, previously unknown emotions in the listener. Or can watching an amazing dancer inspire one to exercise and dance themselves, creating better body awareness and better overall health. Is being transported to a different reality really mindless, or does it provide one with tools of creativity that will help them be more flexible and more innovative. Of course, the mindless entertainment of video games and Hollywood aren't providing this, but if we start to emphasize and improve the entertainment that does, wouldn't that bring us farther?

Nikki - I am very pleased that you thought along these lines. Of course, that is what I have tried to emphasize and focused on the personal forms of entertainment as in story telling, playing with a child, listening to music for instance, these are very personal. In fact the personal forms of entertainment are more important to us than the more public forms of entertainment like movies. I wouldn't call Hollywood entertainment mindless, but that is only one type of entertainment which may not have the same impact as the more personal types of entertainment. So of course we need to broaden our horizons when we do our research on entertainment and create a comprehensive psychology of entertainment. This is a more developing field as you see.
